The Library maintains a separate book shelf for teens, accessible in the teen room. The Library also encourages teens to volunteer, and to participate in other special events scheduled periodically.

Volunteer Opportunities for Teens
If you are at least 11 years old, you qualify to volunteer at the Library in the children's room. Your duties will include putting away children's books (easy reading, fiction and non-fiction), assisting patrons with book selections, and engaging in preparation work for upcoming programs.

If you are 14 years old, you also have the option of being an Independent Specialty Volunteer. You may target one type of Library service that you enjoy doing and perform that duty monthly at a time convenient for you and library staff. Independent volunteers will also be needed for special summer programs, family evening programs, and any events that may draw a large crowd.

If you are 16 years old and older you can volunteer for any of the tasks listed above, and you will be given the opportunity to learn to work at the circulation desk.

Times available to volunteer: Pre-arrangement is required.

After school (September – May): Monday - Thursday afternoons 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Summer (Mid June - Mid August):  Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
