abebooks.com  Excellent site for locating rare, used or out of print books for sale.  Also useful for informal appraisals of your own rare books by checking the rare book database.  Over 20 million titles.

 The Internet Public Library is a valuable reference source for reading or research.  The /reading/books/ website extension takes you to the Online Texts Collection-over 13,000 online titles that can be browsed by author, title or Dewey Decimal Category.  The /ref/Que/PF extension takes you to Pathfinders-home-grown guides written by IPL staff which help you get started doing research on a particular topic, both online and at your local library. Topics range from “Antiques and Collectibles” and “Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder” to “War in the Former Yugoslavia” and “Western Philosophers.”

 
Library of Congress  Access to the Library's catalogs, the Thomas site of Congressional activity, the copyright office, on-line exhibits, library news, a learning page for students and teachers, and a lot more.  

 BookTV  The goal of this site is to complement BookTV,  weekend programming on C-SPAN2. Each weekend, Book TV features 48 hours of nonfiction books from 8am Saturday to 8am Monday. This web site will enhance information on those books, provide an opportunity to watch or listen to programs you might have missed, and provide additional information not available on the network.
